Not an official warning system

Continental Signals is an independent, editorial project. It is not operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), or any other government agency. In an emergency, call 911 and follow the instructions of local authorities and the official warning system for your area.

Information may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong

Alerts are read from public NWS and ECCC feeds and cached for up to 60 seconds. Feeds may be temporarily unavailable, delayed, or contain errors. Point-based ("near me") lookup uses your browser's geolocation and currently covers U.S. NWS forecast zones only. Do not use this site as your sole source of severe-weather information.

AI-generated explanations

The "Explain in plain language" feature uses a large language model to summarize alert text. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, or omit critical detail. The original alert issued by the NWS or ECCC is always the source of truth. Treat the AI summary as a reading aid, never as official guidance.
